Financial Advisor

Hello, I’m Daniel A. Jacobius, known to many as “Dan J”!

Reliable, trustworthy, competent, and conscientious; these are some of the words that people use to describe me. But I think of myself as just someone who finds it incredibly rewarding to help people live quality lives by having better control over their current and future financial needs.

My knowledge of the instruments of insurance and retirement planning and my pursuit of the highest level of service allows me to offer a unique combination of expertise and integrity to my clients. It is that combination that has enabled me to build a solid clientele at MetLife for over 20 years. As a matter of fact, I am still working with most of my very first clients!

I believe that most people want someone who can provide them with insurance, investments and/or a retirement plan that is designed specifically for their needs and which they can easily understand and maintain. I work very, very hard to deliver that promise.

I consider myself to be part of a team whose goal is to help my clients’ meet their current financial objectives and needs (home ownership, debt repayment, health expenses and education needs) and to also carefully plan for their future (long term care, retirement and estate conservation strategies).

My areas of focus are:

  • Retirement Planning
  • Insurance
  • Estate Analysis
  • Long Term Care
  • and…explaining all of it in a way that makes sense!

If you are already one of my clients, please check out some of the great tools that MetLife provides on this website, such as access to your accounts and financial “calculators” designed help you estimate answers to common financial questions such as How much retirement income will you need? Should you refinance your mortgage?  How much life insurance is enough?  What type of IRA is right for you? Diving into Dividends

Dividends have traditionally been considered a source of income, but they also can be a powerful way to help build savings. A recent study found that dividends contributed 44% of S&P 500 total returns from 1930 through September 2010. This article explains how dividends work and the role that dividends could play in an investor's savings strategy.
